A four-page letter, printed in facsimile, from Canadian typographer Carl Dair to a young Robert Reid and Will Carter, recounting his visit in 1962 to this famous papermaking region. Robert corresponded with Dair during the 1950s and early ’60s; most of these letters were donated to McGill University, but this letter remained in his files.
Introduction & afterword by Robert hand-set in 14-point Garamont, printed on damp Lana Antique. The letter in Dair's elegant hand reproduced from polymer plates, printed damp on handmade Amatruda paper — one of the mills Dair mentions in the letter. Sewn in a wrap of blue cotton paper made specially for this project by Reg Lissel. Edition of 75 numbered copies (6.5 x 10.5 inches, 12 pp.) signed by Robert Reid.
